Job Title: Principal Engineering Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineering Designer to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to work on meaningful and landmark projects in the Southern California region.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will have a strong background in civil engineering design, with a minimum of four years of relevant experience in land development and/or public works. They will be responsible for preparing grading and public improvement plans, technical studies, and site plans to obtain entitlements for land development projects. Additionally, they will have experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Bluebeam.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design to final construction documents
  • Prepare and process technical studies and site plans to obtain entitlements for land development projects
  • Prepare Plans, Specifications, and Estimates (PS&E) for public infrastructure improvement plans
  • Perform engineering design studies, incorporating infrastructure requirements and potential regulatory issues
  • Prepare regulatory plans and perform constructability reviews
  • Experience with a range of construction support services
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards & procedures
Requirements:
  • BSCE degree
  • California Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer (preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience in land development and/or public works
  • Minimum of two years of supervising the work of engineers, designers, and other project support staff
