Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing radiologic exams and venipuncture procedures, utilizing radiation safety practices to provide high-quality examinations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform radiologic exams as ordered by physicians, adhering to department standard operating procedures.
  • Check requisitions for physician notes and/or special instructions, ensuring accurate and timely completion of exams.
  • Consult with radiologists or physicians as necessary, providing clear and concise communication.
  • Select proper technical factors on an individual patient basis, ensuring optimal image quality.
  • Operate equipment as directed, maintaining a high level of proficiency and efficiency.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate patient records, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Obtain specimens and perform certain diagnostic laboratory tests as ordered by physicians, following established protocols.
  • Prepare specimens for transport to medical centers or state labs for procedures not performed at the specific facility.

Physical Requirements

This role requires strenuous physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, and bending. The ability to lift and support the weight of 50 pounds is essential for handling patients and medical equipment and supplies. Additionally, the ability to concentrate and respond quickly to changes in patient and clinic conditions is crucial.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED is required, along with successful completion of an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology Program. Current registry with the ARRT or ability to obtain registry within 6 months of hire date is also required. One year of experience is preferred, and BLS certification is required per policy guidelines. Maintaining current certification is essential.
