About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lactation Consultant to join our team at Children's Health. As a key member of our Milk Lab and Lactation team, you will be responsible for providing expert lactation care to our patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and provide lactation care to mothers and their infants, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.
  • Develop and implement lactation plans, providing education and support to mothers and families to promote successful breastfeeding.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure that lactation care is integrated into the patient's plan of care.
  • Participate in staff development programs to enhance lactation knowledge and skills among healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of lactation policies and procedures, ensuring that they are evidence-based and aligned with best practices.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in lactation care, preferably in a pediatric setting.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas.
  • International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification or eligibility to sit for the exam.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
