Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Tortilleria Clerk. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with daily operations.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance at all times and adhere to company dress code.
  • Cook "Nixtamal" and operate the mill (dough) to produce high-quality tortillas.
  • Greet customers and provide prompt and courteous service or assistance.
  • Learn and maintain knowledge of all products and prices in the tortilleria department.
  • Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation standards in compliance with store policy and state and local health regulations.
  • Handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and assist in controlling the level of damaged goods.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in department operations with successful participation in a management training program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food Safety certificate and Safety Training Certificate required.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, verify vendor invoice charges, and complete accounting reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a positive attitude.
Work Environment

The work environment includes occasional exposure to low temperatures in refrigerated and frozen food storage areas and frequent exposure to or near heated ovens and high temperatures. The employee must be available to work weekends and evenings, and overtime work is common.
