Role Summary:
We are currently seeking a Structural Discipline Engineer to take on a pivotal role at our nuclear facility. The ideal candidate will serve as the Structural Lead Engineer, collaborating with a team of engineers and designers to execute plant modification initiatives, conduct engineering calculations, and perform evaluations and studies.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the structural lead engineer, preparing design change packages and coordinating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and budget-conscious project completion.
  2. Conduct structural calculations and evaluations to support various design activities, including but not limited to piping design, equipment support structures, and seismic response assessments.
  3. Engage with stakeholders to clarify project scope and requirements, providing support throughout construction and implementation phases.
  4. Utilize sound judgment to evaluate complex issues, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and design specifications while overseeing the structural team's efforts.
  5. Prepare material and labor estimates, along with engineering and design timelines.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineering (PE) license, with eligibility to obtain a PE in Texas.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in industrial steel and concrete design within heavy industrial settings.
  • Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in engineering and design, particularly in developing structural modification packages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Five years of experience related to structural modifications and evaluations in commercial nuclear power environments.
  • Existing qualifications as a Design Engineer at a commercial nuclear facility.
  • Familiarity with nuclear industry standards and guidelines.
  • NANTeL certification in the Nuclear Standard Design Process.
  • Field experience in an operational nuclear plant.
