Position Overview

The Department of Energy and Petroleum Engineering is seeking applications for an educator, with a start date contingent on funding availability.

Key Responsibilities

- Instructing courses in petroleum and energy engineering at both undergraduate and graduate levels, contingent on qualifications.
- Engaging in recruitment and outreach initiatives.
- Assisting in the oversight of departmental laboratories, including the Drilling and Completion Lab, Drilling Simulator, Virtual Reality Lab, and Slurry Loop Lab.
- Performing additional duties as required by the department.

Essential Competencies

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to teach, motivate, and mentor students.
- Strong interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with faculty, staff, and students.
- Capability to engage with a diverse range of students and colleagues within and beyond the department and the College of Engineering and Mines.
- Flexibility to adapt to contemporary teaching methods, including online instruction.
- Ability to connect with industry partners and relate course material to practical engineering applications.

Minimum Qualifications

- M.S. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Five years of professional experience in an engineering capacity within the energy sector.
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications

- Ph.D. degree in Petroleum Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Ten years of professional experience in an engineering role within the energy sector.
