Job Summary and Purpose

The Instructional Coach will work collaboratively with classroom teachers to enhance student learning outcomes. Under the direct supervision of the Education Program Manager, the Instructional Coach will facilitate individual and group professional development to expand and refine the understanding of research-based effective instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Teacher Needs Assessments (TNAs) to identify areas of growth and development.
  • Conduct and score CLASS observations to inform instruction.
  • Review and analyze data, including DRDP results and CLASS scores, to inform instruction.
  • Establish short- and long-term goals with teachers based on observation and TNA results.
  • Communicate and demonstrate research-based instructional practices that result in increased student performance.
  • Link teacher assessment to teacher performance.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications.
  • Proof of TB clearance within 6 months prior to hire.
  • Annual Influenza vaccination (between Aug 1 – Dec 1).
  • Pertussis (whooping cough) and measles immunization.
  • Health screening at the time of employment.
  • Requires ability to interact with children in a busy environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs, frequently kneeling and squatting, and ability to move quickly.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Child Development or related field.
  • 24 CD/ECE units.
  • 6 infant toddler units (At least 3 semester units are required at hire and any additional units for a total of 6 units are required to be completed within 1 year of hire).
  • Site Supervisor Child Development permit.

Experience:

  • 1 year of monitoring/coaching.
  • Supervising adults.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years' experience monitoring/coaching adults.
  • 1 year teaching experience from birth to 5.
  • Licensing/Performance standards.
