About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Building Systems Technician to join our team at Ironstate Properties in Jersey City, New Jersey. This is a full-time position responsible for conducting repairs within common areas and apartments, including tasks related to plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and appliances.

Responsibilities:
This Building Systems Technician will conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment, perform preventative maintenance tasks, address basic repairs, report any issues to the maintenance manager, install appliances and equipment as needed, inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems, ensure the functionality of safety systems, collaborate with colleagues and other professionals during renovation projects, assist in troubleshooting and repairing various building systems and equipment, demonstrate proficient knowledge in the use and maintenance of tools and equipment used in facility and ground maintenance, respond promptly to residents' requests as assigned, perform carpentry work, and assist with snow removal when necessary.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 1-3 years of experience working as a Building Systems Technician or in a related field, good communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and snow removal, be a proactive self-starter with the ability to work well within a team, and be able to communicate professionally with both residents and staff.
