Job Summary

Bryan Health is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures, including radiography, fluoroscopy, portable diagnostic, and portable fluoroscopy, while practicing radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
  • Use sterile technique as required and optimally demonstrate patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors.
  • Operate all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems, including HIS, RIS, Scheduling System, PACS, and offsite Radiologist Services.
  • Utilize department computer systems, PACS, to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies.
  • Care for and image patients of all ages, maintaining patient confidentiality and coordinating exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care.
  • Handle telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy.
  • Participate in the department's quality improvement plan as assigned and clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment as necessary.
  • Notify coordinator of equipment problems and call appropriate service vendors as needed.
  • Keep area properly supplied and competently set up and operate various c-arms to support high volume surgical cases in the operating room.
  • Develop positive rapport with surgeons in the operating room and competently set up and operate o-arms in the operating room to support high volume surgical cases.
  • Operate all x-ray equipment to perform trauma imaging via portable or stationary x-ray systems, achieving high-quality trauma images in an expedient manner.
  • Complete all types of x-ray imaging for high volume trauma clinic patients efficiently.
  • Assist with departmental orientation and student clinical education as directed and access and administer drugs and biologicals pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in the field of expertise.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, and department projects as assigned and perform other related projects and duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Maintain clinical competency as required for the unit, including age-specific competencies relative to patient's growth and developmental needs, annual skill competency verification, and mandatory education and competencies.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions.
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission, federal, and state regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge of radiologic positioning, use of technical factors, and radiation safety practices.
  • Skill in operating radiologic equipment, image capturing devices, PACS, and other related systems.
  • Ability to react appropriately and perform work under stressful and emergent situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff.
  • Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information.
  • Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to care for diverse patients throughout the age continuum.
  • Ability to exercise courtesy and professionalism in the work environment.
  • Ability to practice proper body mechanics to ensure personal and patient safety.
  • Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Education and Experience

Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology with current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required. Valid State of Nebraska Medical Radiographer license required.

Certifications

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals), and the Military Training Network.
