Job Summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in a Correctional Facility setting. This is a Per Diem position, working on a PRN basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in nursing, with a focus on providing high-quality patient care in a correctional setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform initial health intake assessments, including medical and mental health conditions, communicable and/or other infectious diseases, current medications taken by inmates, mental status, and current use of alcohol and other drugs on new inmates.
  • Respond to medical incidents during shift and provide medical care to inmates and/or the supervision of other detention medical personnel responding to an emergency.
  • Determine the need for attention of a health care provider and schedules medical visits as needed.
  • See inmates for medical emergencies and determine the priority of care needed. Provide emergency first aid as needed, including BLS.
  • Consult the medical provider on healthcare issues for direction and treatment plan.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Diploma in Nursing.
  • Current Florida RN License.
  • BLS.
