Job Title: Crisis Intervention Specialist

At Hope & Healing Survivor Resource Center, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our team.

Job Summary

The Crisis Intervention Specialist will provide confidential services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, including crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals, safety planning, and follow-ups. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, particularly with diverse populations, and be able to model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and conflict resolution.

Responsibilities
  • Provide confidential services to survivors, including crisis intervention, advocacy, referrals, safety planning, and follow-ups.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, including providing shelter coverage, maintaining/contributing to the health and safety of everyone in the shelter, transporting survivors when needed, and facilitating problem-solving of in-house conflicts.
  • Refer survivors to other agencies and resources, and work directly with other agencies to secure services on behalf of survivors and their children.
  • Assist Shelter Case Managers in providing supplemental supportive services to survivors based on their individualized goal plans.
  • Meet the set goals and expectations set forth in regard to time spent with clients per shift.
  • Abide by the mandated reporting policy and procedure when it comes to suspicion or witness of abuse or neglect of children and/or seniors.
  • Assist with cleaning of resident rooms for incoming families.
  • Complete documentation in a timely manner in accordance with the policies and procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Work cooperatively with other staff members, interns, and volunteers to ensure best practices in service delivery.
Requirements
  • At least one year of experience working with survivors of trauma preferred.
  • Certification of CPR, First Aid, AED, and Narcan preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
  • Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal background check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations and Federal Bureau of Investigations).
