The Role:

As the General Manager, you will oversee the transport and logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability. You will lead a large team, develop strategic plans, and work closely with senior leadership to drive growth and improve service delivery.

This role requires a strong leader with in-depth knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and health & safety standards. You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and suppliers, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee day-to-day transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of services
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency and profitability
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a large team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and suppliers
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize performance
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the transport division
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business development and strategic growth plans

Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leadership role within the transport/logistics sector
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • In-depth knowledge of transport regulations, compliance, and health & safety standards
  • Demonstrated success in operational efficiency, business development, and profitability
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets and P&L
