At Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems, we are dedicated to providing exceptional care to our patients and their families. As a Recreation Therapy Technician, you will play a vital role in our team's mission to make a positive impact on the lives of our patients.

The Recreation Therapy Technician assists therapists with Recreation Therapy programming and activities, working closely with patients and families to achieve their goals. This position requires a high level of organization and cleanliness, as well as preparation for activities and events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting patients and families with Recreation Therapy activities
  • Preparing for activities and events
  • Maintaining a clean and organized department
  • Providing clerical support

Requirements for this position include:

  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience working with children with disabilities
  • Experience using a personal computer and various software applications

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Previous experience in a recreational area
  • Two years of post-high school coursework in a human service or education field

This is a PRN day/evening shift position, and the ideal candidate will be able to adapt to frequent change and handle multiple priorities.
