Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in delivering professional nursing care aimed at ensuring the comfort and well-being of patients. The RN is responsible for preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during examinations and procedures. Key responsibilities include administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signs.
Patient Care Responsibilities:
The RN observes and maintains comprehensive records on patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress. This role involves participating as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and execution of patient care strategies. The RN is also responsible for directing and assisting in the implementation of safe aseptic techniques and procedures.
About the Cardiac Cath Lab:
The Cardiac Cath Lab features six angiographic suites, including one dedicated to Electrophysiology Procedures (EP), as well as a Hybrid OR suite. Annually, the lab conducts approximately 4,000 diagnostic and 900 interventional cardiology and peripheral procedures. These procedures encompass Right/Left Heart Catheterizations, percutaneous coronary/peripheral interventions, AAA stent repairs, Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Repair (TAVR), EP Ablations, and pacemaker/ICD implants.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is a leading acute care medical facility, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. The facility is recognized as the primary emergency service provider in the region and is the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with highly trained physicians and nurses in emergency services.
- State-of-the-art Emergency Department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, and surgical suites.
- Affiliated teaching facility with the Texas A&M University System Health Science Center College of Medicine.
- Accredited Chest Pain Center.
- Accredited Joint Commission Stroke Team.
Key Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- Preferred one year of nursing experience.
- Current Texas State RN License.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification required within six months of hire/transfer.
- EKG certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer.
