Key ResponsibilitiesOversee substantial environmental remediation, heavy civil and infrastructure, or specialized geotechnical projects and programs while fostering and enhancing business relationships. Contribute to business development efforts with prospective clients. Act as a representative of company management in discussions with employee organizations. Support the estimating and proposal development team. Manage assigned projects in alignment with Forgen's corporate philosophy of safety and quality, while ensuring optimal economic outcomes. The Project Director will embody and enforce company policies and procedures. Occasional travel may be required.
Core Duties- Uphold Forgen's Core Values in all job functions.
- Lead, manage, and take accountability for direct reports.
- Fulfill the responsibilities of Project Director as outlined in the Accountability Chart.
- Champion a safety culture that promotes Incident and Injury Free Performance.
- Serve as the primary client liaison to evaluate project scope and necessary resources for successful completion.
- Oversee project estimates with thorough review and assessment of all contract documents. Prepare proposals, technical documents, schedules, presentations, and conduct interviews as required during the proposal phase.
- Collaborate closely with site management to ensure projects are executed according to design, budget, and timeline. Manage interactions with client representatives, engineers, stakeholders, public relations, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Coordinate and supervise onsite operations (scheduling, engineering, material control) and may provide daily direction to administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.
- Supervise site management personnel and subcontractors.
- Provide technical guidance, including interpretation of drawings and recommendations for construction methods and equipment as necessary. Initiate and manage extra work estimates and change orders.
- Assume full responsibility for all aspects of project success and failure, including employee productivity, efficient resource utilization, and contractual compliance.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience in a construction setting with a strong emphasis on safety performance.
- Preferred specialized experience in sectors such as:
- Heavy Civil and/or Infrastructure projects for federal and state programs related to levee and dam rehabilitation, water resources, and habitat restoration, including management of Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts.
- Specialty Geotechnical Construction, including slurry cutoff walls or seepage barriers, and in-situ soil solidification/stabilization.
- Valid Driver's License with the ability to drive for company business.
- Preferred safety training, such as 30-Hour OSHA Construction Safety Training, will be provided as necessary.
