Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Groundsperson to join our team at Kendall Vegetation Services. As a Groundsperson, you will play a crucial role in supporting our crew by performing various tasks from the ground, including clearing brush and trees, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clear brush and trees as directed, using handsaws, pole saws, and other equipment
  • Perform clean-up on each job site, ensuring a safe and tidy work environment
  • Load and unload trucks with logs, brush, and debris, and feed brush into a brush chipper
  • Use hand lines to lower limbs and equipment, and perform general clean-up of job sites
  • Carry, prepare, and store materials, tools, and equipment at the work site
  • Set up and break down road signs as directed, and flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury
  • Drive trucks or operate other equipment as assigned, and perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment
  • Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area by enforcing safe job practices and keeping the work area clean and orderly
Requirements
  • Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries is preferred
  • High School diploma or education equivalent is preferred
  • Must possess physical strength and balance to drag heavy limbs, use chain saws, and pruners in uneven terrain
  • Must be able to work outdoors under varying and sometimes adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to hear verbal instructions from a distance, and obtain and maintain first-aid certification and CPR
  • Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), and have and maintain a Driver's License if hired for a driving position
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, and to travel out of town for storm restoration work when needed.
