Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our team at Franciscan Health Crown Point. As a Labor and Delivery Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to expectant mothers and their newborns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized care to patients in labor, including cervical exams, fetal monitoring, and labor management
  • Assess and care for newborns, including initial assessment, vital signs, and post-delivery care
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements
  • Current RN licensure in the state of employment
  • 5+ years of experience in Labor and Delivery
  • EFM, NRP, and STABLE certifications
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Work Environment

The OB Labor and Delivery unit at Franciscan Health Crown Point specializes in both low and high-risk labor, antepartum care, and newborns. The unit has 11 beds with patient ratios of 1:1-1:3 Labor and 1:6-7 on Postpartum. Equipment used includes Phillips Fetal Monitoring, OBIX, GE Giraffe and Panda warmers, Stryker and Linet beds. The EMR system used is Epic.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Spinning Babies and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
