The Bartender plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional beverage service. This position involves preparing a variety of drinks, including soft drinks, espresso beverages, beer, wine, and cocktails. Bartenders also engage with guests at the bar and those waiting for tables, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly upon arrival.
- Prepare cocktails according to the restaurant's specifications, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Provide the same level of service at the bar as guests would receive in the dining area.
- Memorize multiple drink recipes to facilitate quick service.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of standard cocktail recipes.
- Set up and dismantle the bar, including cleaning surfaces, sweeping floors, and maintaining the cleanliness of liquor bottles.
- Stay informed about the food and beverage menus, adapting to frequent changes.
- Accurately enter orders into the POS system, ensuring every drink is logged.
- Adhere to company cash handling procedures.
- Monitor open tickets and manage closed credit card receipts.
- Prioritize ticket orders to complete tasks efficiently.
- Notify management and servers of any out-of-stock bar items.
- Restock bar supplies at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Handle all cash transactions for the establishment, ensuring proper cash drawer management.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar cooler, including proper rotation and labeling of items.
- Ensure the bar remains clean throughout the shift, including dusting, cleaning spills, and sanitizing glassware.
- Verify identification of patrons to comply with age restrictions for alcohol purchase.
- Understand food pairing principles.
- Prepare garnishes and set up the bar for service prior to opening.
- Wash and sterilize bar glassware.
- Communicate effectively with team members, demonstrating strong teamwork skills.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor, arriving on time and in appropriate uniform.
- Maintain awareness of and adhere to service standards.
- Display integrity and honesty in all employment aspects.
- Complete side work and closing duties independently, ensuring the bar is set up, clean, and organized.
- Work efficiently to complete tasks within designated time frames.
- Attend scheduled employee meetings and contribute meaningfully.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
- ATC Responsible Vendor's License.
- Basic math and computer/tablet skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Excellent multitasking abilities and attention to detail.
- Availability to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays.
- Positive and engaging personality with a professional appearance.
