Position DetailsThis role involves 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM, including every other weekend and holiday rotations.
The Telemetry Technician embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, adhering to our Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, while complying with all relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
This position is responsible for telemetry monitoring, providing essential data for diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Attach electrode lead lines to designated body areas based on the specific tests ordered.
- Prepare the skin and surrounding areas to ensure accurate results.
- Obtain and document ECG readings as instructed.
- Conduct continuous surveillance of multiple telemetry monitors.
- Recognize significant arrhythmias and signs of patient distress, intervening as necessary.
- Identify and rectify artifacts in readings.
- Edit and submit results to the attending physician for further analysis and interpretation.
- Maintain ECG equipment and ensure the availability of necessary supplies.
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of coursework in ECG interpretation.
- Certification in CPR – Basic Life Support.
