Job Summary

This position is located at Defense Finance & Accounting Services in Texarkana, TX. The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining assigned areas of journals and ledgers, examining and verifying documents for mathematical correctness and clerical accuracy, and maintaining files of correspondence and messages pertaining to financial records and accounting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain assigned areas of journals and ledgers to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records.
  • Examine and verify documents to determine their mathematical correctness and clerical accuracy, and make necessary corrections.
  • Maintain files of correspondence and messages pertaining to financial records and accounting, and ensure that all documents are properly stored and accessible.
  • Audit and verify each supporting document for propriety of account debits and credits, and ensure that all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Complete posting documents with backup attached codes documents and post to appropriate ledger and journal.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a Tier 3 background investigation.
  • PER AR 380-67, NON-US CITIZENS WILL NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN THE REQUIRED ANACI (SECRET) INVESTIGATION, THEREFORE, WILL BE UNABLE TO QUALIFY UNDER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT.

Payment Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government's interest.

This is a pay-banded position. Sunday premium pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander. If authorized, only regular (full-time, part-time, limited tenure and seasonal) employees may be paid Sunday premium pay.

Incentives will not be paid.

Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
