Position Overview
As a Kitchen Steward, you will play a vital role in providing friendly and efficient service while adhering to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive at work well-groomed, in a clean and appropriate uniform, and maintain good personal hygiene.
- Rinse and organize soiled dishes, silverware, and glassware into washing trays. All preparation containers and pans require soaking, scrubbing, and manual sanitation.
- Load trays into the dishwasher; remove dishes, silverware, and glassware from washing trays and stock them for kitchen staff and servers.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of your work areas.
- Monitor and manage food temperatures during hot and cold food handling to minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses.
- Perform general maintenance of all floors (mopping and vacuuming) at the end of your shift.
- Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service acquired through in-house training.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- High level of mobility and flexibility is required.
- Ability to work irregular hours under significant stress during peak times.
- Must possess a high level of coordination.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
- Must be able to fit through an opening 30 inches wide.
- Frequent reaching, bending, pushing, and pulling is necessary.
- Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, cold, and odors is expected.
- Continual standing and walking are required.
