Position Overview:
The Loss Prevention division at UNIQLO is dedicated to ensuring a secure shopping atmosphere for both customers and staff. The Loss Prevention Specialist is integral to managing inventory and minimizing losses. Daily responsibilities include prioritizing safety, overseeing inventory control, and reducing shrinkage. This role reports to the Loss Prevention Manager and Store Manager, acting as a vital resource for safety and protection within our retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educate store personnel on loss prevention and safety protocols, ensuring adherence from all team members and alerting management of any infractions.
  • Assist the LP team in effectively identifying, apprehending, and detaining shoplifters in accordance with company policies.
  • Foster constructive relationships with store leadership and associates.
  • Lead initiatives to raise awareness among associates and generate leads for internal investigations.
  • Emphasize the significance of accurate inventory management, investigate discrepancies, and instruct the team on proper practices.
  • Ensure comprehension and compliance with strategies aimed at reducing shortages.
  • Collaborate with leadership to enhance the culture of loss prevention.
  • Work alongside the LP Manager to guarantee adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections to verify compliance with safety policies during store visits, providing guidance and training to address identified opportunities.
  • Recognize safety or loss hazards, promptly notifying management to avert incidents.
  • Support loss prevention management with audits and inventory assessments.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Proficient in computer applications, including security software, CCTV systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local laws.
  • Understanding of surveillance and security equipment and their installation.
  • Willingness to travel to various store locations as needed.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods on the sales floor as required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Capability to communicate effectively with customers and store staff.
  • Ability to perform calculations for discounts and percentages.
  • Capacity to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods, read computer screens, and move objects weighing at least 50 lbs.
  • Proficiency in navigating the sales floor and stockroom, including repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing.
