Job Title: ESL Specialist

Job Summary:

The Alabama Department of Education is seeking a highly qualified ESL Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing educational support to students who are English language learners. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective instructional strategies to support English language learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive support system for English language learners
  • Provide professional development opportunities for teachers and other staff members on issues related to English language learners
  • Stay up-to-date on best practices in ESL education and incorporate new ideas and strategies into instructional practices
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Valid Alabama teaching certification
  • Experience working with English language learners
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Education or a related field
  • Experience teaching ESL in a public school setting
  • Knowledge of ESL instructional strategies and best practices
Working Conditions:

This is a full-time position that requires a strong commitment to teaching and learning. The successful candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive support system for English language learners.
