Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform physical examinations, evaluate health conditions, order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and manage illnesses, including administering injections and suturing wounds.
  • Oversee patient care services by coordinating the healthcare delivery of the physician's team.
  • Possess knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10-CM coding.
  • Identify potential medical and surgical issues through thorough physical examinations and patient history documentation.
  • Deliver direct patient care, explaining the necessity and nature of procedures to patients and their families, completing laboratory studies, and conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Monitor patient progress by providing ongoing care services, maintaining patient records, and referring patients to specialists as necessary.
  • Prescribe medications and recommend other therapeutic treatments.
  • Contribute to clinical research projects within the organization, preparing statistical reports and analyses to identify trends and provide recommendations.
  • Enhance patient care quality by evaluating and redesigning processes to implement improvements.
  • Adhere to professional standards, policies, and regulations to ensure the safety and integrity of the facility.
  • Stay updated with state-of-the-art practices by engaging in professional development and contributing to professional publications.
  • Uphold the organization’s reputation by taking ownership of new initiatives and exploring opportunities to enhance patient care.
  • Monitor treatment plans and ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide counseling to patients and families regarding preventive healthcare.
  • Document patient information and care in medical records and maintain departmental statistical databases for research.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in response to changing situations and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Adjust work schedules as needed to accommodate practice requirements and share on-call responsibilities with colleagues.
