Medical Laboratory Scientist Team Lead

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist Team Lead to join our team at Indiana University Health. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing laboratory tests on patient specimens, providing information for diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases, and maintaining records of performance.
Key Responsibilities- Perform laboratory tests on patient specimens and provide information for diagnosis, treatment, or prevention of diseases.
- Maintain records of performance and utilize independent judgment to generate acceptable test results within quality control standards.
- Participate in research and development activities, instruct students, laboratory and non-laboratory staff on laboratory procedures and techniques.
- Perform all tasks according to standard operating procedures and may work on the development and modification of procedures.
- Assume additional responsibilities as outlined by management or the laboratory director.
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or related sciences.
- 1-3 years of training/experience in high complexity testing in the respective specialty.
- Appropriate certification by ASCP, AMT, NCA or equivalent certification.
- In-depth knowledge of various complex and lengthy laboratory techniques and procedures.
- In-depth knowledge of specialized testing equipment and routine maintenance procedures.
- Ability to maintain quality control and other records.
- Ability to use computer to enter and retrieve test results.
- In-depth knowledge of standard operating procedures and testing techniques.
- Analytical skills to make quantitative and qualitative observations.
- Ability to work independently, handle constant interruptions and concurrent tasks.
- Knowledge of all laboratory safety regulations and protocols.
