Manager of Acoustics and Aerodynamics Engineering

The Manager of Acoustics and Aerodynamics Engineering plays a crucial role in our organization, leading a talented team of specialists focused on the innovative design and development of advanced components for commercial turbomachinery. This position is essential in guiding the team through various phases of the engine design lifecycle, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of acoustics and aerodynamic technology.
Key Responsibilities:- Leadership and Team Development: Inspire and manage the Acoustics and Aerodynamics team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration aligned with organizational objectives.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to establish project budgets, allocate resources, and set milestones for both technological advancements and program initiatives.
- Execution and Accountability: Ensure the team effectively prioritizes tasks and meets project deadlines, while maintaining accountability for deliverables to stakeholders.
- Effective Communication: Maintain open lines of communication with team members, leadership, clients, and other relevant disciplines to ensure clarity and transparency.
- Talent Development: Promote professional growth initiatives, aligning team capabilities with product development requirements and supporting career progression.
- Commitment to Excellence: Advocate for safety, quality, and diversity; promote a culture of continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related field.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the aviation sector.
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in engineering, with a focus on acoustics or aerodynamics.
- At least 10 years of experience in acoustics or aerodynamics design or a related field.
- Proficiency in acoustics and aerodynamic design tools, including computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
- Experience in leading design and technology development initiatives in acoustics or aerodynamics.
- Familiarity with lean methodologies such as FLIGHT DECK.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse, multi-site global teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Final offers will be contingent upon the ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
