As BB Living continues to expand, we are seeking skilled construction professionals to oversee and drive the successful execution of our construction initiatives.
Position Summary:
The Construction Manager will report directly to the Project Lead and will be responsible for directing and supervising all trades and suppliers engaged in contracted work within designated areas. This role involves collaborating with the entire project team to establish schedules and manage workflow to meet project timelines. The Construction Manager will oversee the jobsite workforce to ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards, with a strong focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and scopes of work.
- Lead and facilitate weekly coordination meetings with subcontractor foremen to discuss work completion requirements and address any issues, including manpower needs and inspection sequences.
- Conduct regular site inspections and generate corrective punch lists for designated work areas.
- Ensure compliance with all contract documents and performance standards related to subcontracted work and material supply agreements.
- Promptly inform the project team of any scheduling or performance challenges and devise corrective action plans to uphold budgets and quality.
- Document daily job reports in accordance with company procedures, including workforce counts, weather conditions, and material deliveries.
- Enforce the Company Safety program and manage safety reporting as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized jobsite, addressing any issues with team members as necessary.
- Initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify plans and specifications, ensuring that all necessary corrections are communicated to the project team.
- Proactively manage material deliveries and subcontractor schedules to prevent delays.
- Identify and resolve issues impacting schedules, budgets, and quality, ensuring clear communication with the Project Lead.
- Coordinate and schedule all necessary inspections with local and state authorities.
- Oversee quality control to ensure compliance with construction documents and project specifications.
- Maintain a professional workspace and appearance, representing the company positively.
- Foster collaborative relationships with architects, engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, local officials, and clients.
- Keep organized on-site project files for work scopes, submittals, RFIs, and as-built drawings.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications, with a solid understanding of construction methods and regulations.
- Able to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Decisive and capable of performing well under pressure, especially during unforeseen challenges.
- Skilled in coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proven ability to build effective working relationships.
- Willingness to travel as needed to support project execution and training.
- On-site project team presence is required during trade work and material deliveries.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management or supervisory roles is essential.
- Completion of 10-hour OSHA training is required; 30-hour training is preferred.
