Position Overview:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) plays a crucial role in delivering patient care under the supervision of a physician. This position is integral to the healthcare team, ensuring the highest standards of care are met by preparing and evaluating patients for their medical appointments.
The LPN will monitor, document, and communicate patient reactions to medical interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with physicians and healthcare team members to address patient and family needs.
- Implements care plans by providing direct nursing services in line with LPN practice standards.
- Accurately labels and manages specimens as per training.
- Assists in indirect care through various administrative tasks as delegated by the registered nurse.
- Serves as a chaperone during patient examinations upon request.
- Supports providers during procedures, treatments, and interventions.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements:
- Vocational/Technical Degree in Licensed Practical Nursing (mandatory).
Certifications Required:
- Current LPN license in the applicable state or compact.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (mandatory).
- IV Therapy certification (preferred).
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience in a physician's office or outpatient care setting (required).
- One year of clinical experience in acute care, long-term care, or hospice (preferred but not mandatory).
Skills & Competencies:
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care across all patient age groups.
- Ability to learn and utilize a computer-based patient scheduling and registration system.
- Capable of thriving in a fast-paced team environment.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
Shift/Schedule:
Full Time - Scheduled for 36 Weekly Hours
Shift Time: 7pm-7am
This position includes scheduled shifts every third weekend.
