We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Fire Safety Guardian. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our work environment by identifying and mitigating potential fire hazards.
About the Job
This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain clear and direct communication with workers performing hot work, ensuring they are aware of fire safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surveillance: Monitor work areas where hot work or fire-prone activities are performed.
- Fire Prevention: Identify potential fire hazards and take action to remove or properly store flammable materials.
- Emergency Response: Be prepared to use fire extinguishers or other firefighting equipment in the event of a fire.
- Documentation: Keep accurate logs of fire watch activities, incidents, and any fire hazards identified during the shift.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Fire Watch or in fire prevention is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with fire safety procedures and equipment (training will be provided).
Working Conditions:
- Work in an industrial environment with exposure to dust, noise, and machinery.
- Shift work may be required including nights and weekends.
Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per annum depending on location and experience.
