About the Job

This senior leadership position reports directly to the CFO and plays a critical role in ensuring the financial health and integrity of our organization.

  • Oversight of all accounting operations, including billing, financial reporting, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and revenue recognition.
  • Cooperation with external auditors to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information.
  • Compliance with SEC reporting requirements, including 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K filings and proxy statements.
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive job cost system.
  • Leadership of the company's financial planning and budgeting processes.
  • Establishment and management of financial controls according to the company's procedures.
  • Communication of financial metrics to senior management and the board of directors.
  • Management of relationships with insurance providers and adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversight of transaction processing systems.
Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, with an MBA or Master's degree in Accounting being highly desirable.
  • An active CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position, preferably within the energy industry.
  • Prior public accounting experience.
  • Proven experience in coordinating with external auditors and managing SEC reporting.
  • Strong knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with public company transformation (IPO).
  • Knowledge of federal and state financial regulations.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
