Job Summary:

The Lead Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for overseeing the diagnostic imaging department, which performs cardiac exams on patients using ultrasound testing equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiac anatomy, exam procedures, and result interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and coordinate the sonographers in the vascular department.
  • Conduct job performance reviews and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Input data for associates' time and attendance.
  • Perform all essential job functions of a Registered Cardiac Sonographer.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in non-invasive and invasive cardiac exams.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest cardiac anatomy and exam procedures.
Requirements:
  • Associates degree in an applied health science field with a concentration in cardiovascular technology, ultrasonography, or a related study.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Credentialed in echocardiography by a recognized organization, such as the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
  • One year of experience as a Cardiac Sonographer, with two years of experience preferred.
  • EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience and Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience are a plus.
