About the Job

Hollywood Park is seeking a skilled Landscape Crew Member to join our team. As a key member of our grounds maintenance team, you will be responsible for creating beautiful environments by providing landscape maintenance support to various industrial, commercial, and public properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial-grade landscaping equipment to maintain turf, trim and edge borders, and blow leaves.
  • Prune shrubs and low trees to improve growth habits and remove damaged branches.
  • Plant and maintain flower beds, and apply mulch to ensure a visually appealing landscape.
  • Pick up trash and debris to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe or hula hoe to maintain a healthy and thriving landscape.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a polite, friendly, and responsive demeanor with guests and customers.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure a high level of quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a strong cross-functional relationship with colleagues throughout the organization.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, cleaning, and removal of Matrax turf protection as needed.
  • Support Turf and Grounds staff with event preparation as required.
  • Operate and be knowledgeable in light to heavy equipment, including tractors, utility vehicles, boom lifts, and forklifts.
  • Assist with spraying common landscape pests and diseases.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends.
  • Willingness to learn landscape equipment and concepts.
  • Open to communicating with coworkers and leads.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • 2-4 years of experience in landscape maintenance.
  • Preferred: 2 or 4-year degree or equivalent experience in a landscape-related field.
  • Strong work ethic with an emphasis on working in a team environment.
  • Good verbal communication skills to convey messages clearly and precisely.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
  • Flexible schedule to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Ability to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds, walk, stand, bend, and stoop for prolonged periods.
Physical Requirements

Salary Range: $19.57/hour

Only in exceptional circumstances, if an external candidate has the experience, credentials, or expertise far exceeding what is expected for the position, would Hollywood Park consider paying a salary or rate near the higher end of the range.
