Electrical Engineer Role at HDR

We're seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team, who will play a crucial role in shaping our projects and making a difference in our communities. As an Electrical Engineer at HDR, you'll be responsible for:

  • Coordinating the electrical design team on large-scale projects, ensuring timely completion of schematic design development and contract documents.
  • Establishing meetings and participating in reviews with governing agencies to ensure code compliance.
  • Coordinating workload to complete documents on schedule, conducting site work sessions with the Project Manager and other disciplines.
  • Reviewing electrical documents for conflicts with other disciplines, writing and editing electrical specifications, and selecting equipment, systems, and devices.
  • Coordinating with affected disciplines on addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders, incorporating agreed-upon changes into project documents.
  • Providing construction contract administration as needed and conducting QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Engineers, Electrical Coordinators, or Technicians.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm is desired.
  • Experience and/or interest in sustainable design/LEED is desired but not required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • Previous experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Strong computer skills using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and EasyPower.
