We are seeking a qualified lecturer to teach courses in Mechanical Engineering at the University of California, Merced. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical Engineering and experience teaching at the college or university level.
The lecturer will be responsible for creating a syllabus, holding regular office hours, evaluating student work and exams, and calculating and posting grades. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant, reader, or remedial tutor.
This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications
Basic qualifications include an advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and experience teaching at the college or university level. The successful candidate must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching that demonstrates broad experience working with students of different abilities, ethnic backgrounds, and educational attainment.
