Job Description

Position Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Technician role is responsible for executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks within the facility, under the guidance of management.

Work Schedule: 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities

This job description does not limit management's authority to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities as necessary.

  • Assist in the setup and installation of new machinery.
  • Support team members on specialized fabrication and construction initiatives.
  • Adhere to the preventive maintenance timetable.
  • Conduct repairs and installations on machinery, including motor replacements, gearbox rebuilds, threaded piping, welding, pump overhauls, and seal replacements.
  • Perform daily lubrication and maintenance of plant equipment as required.
  • Diagnose and replace equipment components with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times.
  • Utilize assigned personal protective equipment and comply with all safety regulations; stay informed about and follow all company safety protocols.
  • Participate in regularly scheduled safety meetings and may be invited to join the Safety Committee.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience with rendering or comparable industrial equipment.
  • Proficient in welding and piping techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training is preferred.
  • Experience operating a forklift is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of general maintenance and equipment operation.
  • Welding skills in MIG and Stick, including vertical and overhead techniques, are preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair control circuits and install variable frequency drives (VFDs) is a plus.
  • General mechanical aptitude; capable of diagnosing and resolving issues with motors and other machinery.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to lift, push, pull, or move items weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
  • May require travel to other facilities for project work.
  • Availability for night and weekend work may be necessary; on-call availability as needed.

Work Environment

This position will be performed in a rendering facility, which necessitates the ability to work in conditions with wet or slippery surfaces and extreme temperatures.
