Excavator Operator

J T Russell and Sons Inc is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team. As an Excavator Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.

• Operate various pieces of heavy equipment, including excavators, to perform tasks such as excavation, grading, and paving.
• Ensure proper operation of equipment by performing regular checks on their functionality and performing preventative maintenance to ensure equipment is safe and operating properly.
• Provide regular cleaning and maintenance of equipment to preserve its quality and functionality.
• Perform minor repairs on equipment issues and report needs for larger repairs to the appropriate parties.
• Abide by all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as all company safety procedures.

• 3+ years of experience working with excavators.
• Experience working with a pipe crew.
• Knowledge of proper operation of heavy equipment as well as safety standards.
• Ability to maintain, inspect, clean, and occasionally repair pieces of heavy equipment.
• Keen attention to detail and situational awareness to maintain the safety of the work environment.

• Valid driver's license.
• Class B or higher driver's license and/or willingness to acquire Class A driver's license.
• Experience with GPS.
• Knowledge and certification for erosion control.
