1-Month Research Assignment

We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Data Collector for a short-term pilot project. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge AR/VR technology and contribute to the development of Meta's next-generation AR devices.

Responsibilities:

The Data Collector will be responsible for collecting data at real-world locations using prototype and consumer-level AR/VR devices. This will involve:

  • Retrieving and transporting equipment to indoor and outdoor locations
  • Setting up prototype equipment and software according to instruction manuals and training
  • Collecting data using a defined set of standard operating procedures and predetermined paths
  • Communicating with the public about the project using pre-authorized, NDA-approved scripts
  • Reviewing data using embedded software and uploading it to company servers through client-provided laptops

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have:

  • Good physical fitness, able to walk up to 8 miles a day
  • Ability to carry up to 10 lbs for extended periods
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills using email, instant messaging, and video conferencing
  • Mature and confident interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical concepts
  • Understanding of deadlines and milestones with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow documented procedures
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace and working on Android/iPhone and MacOS

Preferred Qualifications:

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • High level of fitness, able to walk up to 8-12 miles a day
  • 1-2 years working in a team environment
  • 1-2 years working in a field/research environment
  • Intermediate experience with Android devices
  • Intermediate experience with MacBooks
