Maintenance Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Upstate Farms Dairy LLC. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on production and supporting equipment to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks on production and supporting equipment, including breakdown and preventative maintenance.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment using basic problem-solving skills and technical knowledge.
- Complete all standard work orders and preventative maintenance tasks assigned, submitting all completed paperwork.
- Record information in required logbooks for systems history and continuous improvement.
- Ensure quality standards set by the company are adhered to after PMs and/or repairs are made to equipment.
- Minimum of a GED or High School Diploma.
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
- Technical training or electrical/mechanical technician degree, or verifiable comparable experience.
- Food manufacturing background is a plus.
- Must be able to operate forklifts and pallet jacks (electric/manual).
- Experience with programmable logic controller, instruments, and controls is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience within the mechanical field; working with boilers, ammonia refrigeration, air compressors, air handling units, and HVAC is a plus.
- Must be able to work within varied temperature ranges.
- Must be able to work with numerous forms of energy such as electricity, steam, pneumatic, mechanical.
- Must be able to read, interpret, and comprehend schematics and blueprints.
- Must be able to use Human Interface Machines and computers (start and stop-up).
- Must be able to lift up to and including 50lbs.
- Knowledge of how assigned equipment operates.
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills in mechanics, including plumbing, pumps, seals and gaskets, drive systems (gear, belt, and chain), bearings and bushings, fastener thread designations, and properties of lubricants.
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills in pneumatics, including basic understanding of how pneumatics work, knowledge of the function and type of control components.
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, including basic understanding of how hydraulics work, knowledge of the function and type of control components, read and understand basic hydraulic prints.
- Basic knowledge and troubleshooting skills in electrical, including understanding basic single-phase wiring, correct use of a multimeter, AC and DC power, fuses and breakers, read and understand basic electrical prints, basic knowledge of three-phase wiring, identify and change three-phase motor rotation, proper motor and name plate reading, actuators and sensors, PLC.
- Knowledge of general computer functions such as Microsoft Office programs, spreadsheets, etc.
- Knowledge of basic safety regulations.
- Skill in multi-tasking.
- Skill in basic problem-solving.
- Skill with basic math procedures.
- Skill in team-building.
- Skill in interpersonal and communication.
- Possess good mechanical aptitude to disassemble and assemble all types of equipment.
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, management team members, and other individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
- Ability to climb ladders, stairs, or use a scissor lift to inspect and/or repair equipment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and coordinate various activities simultaneously.
- Ability to complete assigned tasks.
- Seeing: Must be able to read reports and use computer.
- Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers.
- Standing/Walking/Mobility: Must be able to stand to open files and operate office equipment or mechanical equipment; mobility between departments or physical locations, and attend meetings of co-workers and management.
- Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to climb, stoop, or kneel to perform routine tasks within the scope of job.
- Lifting up to 50lbs./ Pulling/Pushing:
- Touching/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to write, type, and use office equipment or other equipment; along with handling material and equipment.
- Ability to perform functions in a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $26-30 per hour
