About the Role:

Nuclear Medicine Technologists play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at Advocate Aurora Health, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials. This includes preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, obtaining medical history from patients, and comparing requisitions to physicians' orders to ensure exam accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Competently perform basic to intermediate nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including general and cardiac scans.
  • Review patient medical records to obtain necessary clinical information and compare requisitions to physicians' orders.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and procedural adjunctive medication according to approved exam parameters.
  • Perform venipuncture and placement of peripheral IV catheters for medication administration.
  • Relay pertinent patient history information to appropriate staff and departments.
  • Post-process images as directed and accurately identify and label images.
  • Maintain accurate records of pharmaceutical doses and patient information.

Requirements:
  • Nuclear Medicine Tech (N) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 1 year.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist certification (CNMT) issued by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent knowledge.
