We are seeking a seasoned Construction Superintendent/Chief Inspector to bolster our East Texas CEI Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the construction engineering and inspection initiatives primarily for TXDOT transportation projects.
  • Execute intricate technical field assignments, ensuring construction work adheres to project plans, contract documents, and specifications.
  • Manage and coordinate the project inspection team.
  • Conduct regular site visits to perform inspections and provide support to inspection personnel. Mentor and train junior inspection staff.
  • Prepare comprehensive Daily Work Reports, review calculations, and authorize Inspectors' DWRs.
  • Address and resolve quantity disputes with contractors, ensure timely contractor payments, and prepare monthly payment estimates.
  • Participate in project progress meetings.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong professional relationships with stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of ongoing projects and the pursuit of future opportunities.
  • Assess programs for compliance with Client standards.
  • Identify and assist in the pursuit of upcoming project opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager in preparing proposals and estimates for new projects.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Bridge and Highway construction projects, with a solid understanding of contractor practices; prior TXDOT experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in construction management and inspection.
  • Familiarity with TXDOT Specifications, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Proficient in AASHTO SiteManager.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract requirements and project documentation standards.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment in resolving project issues.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks in a collaborative environment.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Demonstrated experience in QA/QC development and implementation.
  • Knowledge of project controls, including CPM scheduling, cost estimating, contract administration, and claims analysis.
  • Proven skills in coordinating and directing the work of subconsultants and fostering strong relationships with contractors, subcontractors, inspectors, and other stakeholders.
