Role Overview: As a Mechanical Test Engineer, you will engage in scientific evaluations concerning design, material processes, and operational challenges. Your contributions will be vital in the design and development of prototypes, testing methodologies, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the creation of designs for secondary elements, minor functional systems, or component parts of structures or devices.
- Utilize your knowledge of physical, chemical, and mathematical principles to address design-related challenges and innovate new solutions.
- Set up, modify, and change test samples and configurations for testing, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications or established testing protocols.
- Lead and coordinate testing activities with laboratory personnel, managing equipment resources effectively.
- Accurately gather, interpret, process, and format test data and results, performing necessary calculations to meet applicable testing standards.
- Investigate and troubleshoot product design issues, documenting findings and suggesting corrective or improvement measures.
- Develop specialized tests and comprehensive written procedures.
- Compose technical reports detailing test conditions, methodologies, outcomes, and conclusions.
- Support Design Engineers in the development of components for minor functional systems.
- Operate, maintain, and repair testing equipment, instrumentation, and systems according to engineering specifications or defined testing practices.
- Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing computer systems for data acquisition, recording test results, and managing project documentation.
- Interpret 2D production drawings accurately.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (Engineering) with 0 - 2 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational, and maintenance instructions.
- Strong teamwork skills, capable of collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word).
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present information effectively to groups.
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities, adept at solving practical problems and managing various concrete variables.
