Licensed Practical Nurse Corrections

Amergis is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team in a Corrections setting in Eloy, AZ. As an LPN, you will provide general and emergency nursing care to adults and children in custody while maintaining facility security standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, treat, and evaluate patient care
  • Integrate and implement referrals of inmates to the staff physician, nurse practitioner, dentist, and mental health professional
  • Monitor patient responses to nursing and other interventions
  • Document patient responses to nursing and other interventions
  • Participate in infection control activities and adhere to facility policy and procedure
  • Follow security guidelines and protocol on tools/sharps counts and ingress/egress policies

Requirements:

  • Current Practical Nursing License in the applicable state
  • Minimum of one year experience in Corrections preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program when applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
