Key Responsibilities:

1. LIMS Administration:

  • Oversee user accounts, permissions, and access controls within the LIMS.
  • Configure and maintain system settings, workflows, and data structures to maximize operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Diagnose technical issues, provide user support, and liaise with vendors for resolution as necessary.
  • Monitor system performance, conduct routine audits, and implement enhancements as required.

2. Customization and Development:

  • Design, develop, and implement tailored modules, reports, and interfaces to augment LIMS functionality.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Document customizations thoroughly, including code repositories, user manuals, validation documentation, and training materials.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in laboratory informatics.
  • Manage third-party LIMS developers effectively.

3. Integration and Data Management:

  • Facilitate the integration of LIMS with laboratory instruments, software systems, and databases to enhance data transfer and analysis.
  • Establish and uphold data standards, validation rules, and integrity checks to ensure the reliability and consistency of information within the LIMS.
  • Implement data backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical laboratory information.

4. Training and Support:

  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for end-users to promote effective utilization of the LIMS.
  • Act as a primary contact for user inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and providing technical assistance.
  • Collaborate with IT personnel to manage system upgrades, patches, and migrations while minimizing disruptions to laboratory workflows.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Laboratory Science, or a related discipline; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in LIMS administration, configuration, and development; familiarity with LabVantage and Benchling is advantageous.
  • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, and JavaScript, with experience in web development.
  • Strong grasp of laboratory processes, workflows, and regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, CLIA, ISO).
  • Experience with database management systems (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and data integration methods (e.g., ETL/ELT, APIs).
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with robust analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Certification in LIMS administration or a related field is a plus.
  • Ensure high availability in the applications developed and managed, providing prompt support for incidents and outages.

Compensation: Individual compensation is determined by job-relevant skills, expertise, experience, education, and geographic location. The typical salary range for this position is estimated at $130,000 - $150,000.
