Job Summary:

As a Training and Development Specialist at SER Metro Detroit, you will work closely with coaching staff to ensure participants' intake paperwork is entered accurately and timely. Your responsibilities will include data entry, compiling, tracking, and reporting of training completions and other key performance data. You will also support the team by processing participant supportive services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter participant training activity data into the One Stop Management Information System (OSMIS) and internal reporting system; ensure accuracy of data entered.
• Compile program statistics and performance data and prepare related reports for submission.
• Participate in the maintenance of an up-to-date automated reporting system to track program participation hours/program completion and placement status of program participants.
• Develop and maintain a working relationship with the customer, Career Coach, and funder's training department to ensure that concerns/barriers to successful program completion are addressed and resolved appropriately; provide referrals as determined necessary.
• Process all supportive service payments including ensuring information is accurate, back up documentation is validated, and purchase orders are completed and submitted. Assist with the procurement of vendors as needed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant hard files and perform QA of system records.
• Upload pre-requisite training documents and completion certificates/licenses to Launchpad; create required events/ITAs.
• Conduct follow-up activities to monitor customer's progress during training period and after achievement of educational goal; maintain related documentation.
• Stay abreast of all changes related to WIOA training requirements, current labor market, and occupational trends.
• Maintain an accurate tracking system to monitor enrollment, retention and participant's progress and prepares activity reports as required.

Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Experience in career planning, placement, employment, training, or a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of career development and case management principals, objectives, standards, and methods; and of program policies and procedures.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate and build professional relationships with funders, training providers, assess customer needs and assist with case management.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access).
• Ability to make visits to up to five sites within a month to collect and/or drop off documents needed in hard copy form.
• Computer skills necessary to maintain required documentation and to access information on the Internet.
• Mental ability to handle pressures related to meeting placement goals and dealing with multiple individuals from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of need.
