Job Title: Spacecraft Software Developer

Maxar Technologies is seeking a skilled Spacecraft Software Developer to join our team in Westminster, CO. As a key member of our spacecraft software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software for our industry-leading Worldview Legion satellites.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position that requires a strong background in software development, particularly in C++ programming. You will work closely with our team of experienced engineers to develop software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software for spacecraft systems, including guidance, navigation, and control (GNC), fault detection, isolation, and recovery (FDIR), and thermal systems.
  • Work with our team to develop and test software solutions, ensuring they meet the required specifications and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate software components and ensure seamless system operation.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including design documents, test plans, and technical notes.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of our software development processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-15 years of software development experience, depending on position level.
  • Expert-level C++ programming skills, with experience in multicore-processor architecture.
  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: GNC, FDIR, thermal systems, command and telemetry processing, embedded systems architecture, and infrastructure.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Experience working on satellite software development from inception to launch.
  • Experience with large-scale satellite software development projects.
