We are in search of a Milwaukee Area Beverage Sales Specialist (also known as Beverage Advocate) to enhance our expanding Sales team. The ideal candidate possesses a strong passion for cider, enjoys the art of fermentation, and is both optimistic and highly driven to learn and advance in a swiftly growing sector. This role entails engaging with both off-premise and on-premise accounts to boost sales and market presence through effective product distribution, promotional displays, and marketing initiatives. The position will primarily focus on the retail execution of Schilling Cider brands, with approximately 85% of the time spent in the field. The designated area for this role encompasses the entire state of Wisconsin, with a significant focus on the Milwaukee and Madison metropolitan regions.

Key Responsibilities

Field Execution:

  • Develop and implement the Schilling sales strategy to expand the Wisconsin market, particularly in major urban areas.
  • Collaborate closely with the Senior Director of Sales for the Midwest & Mid-Atlantic to formulate and execute Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly Plans aimed at achieving annual market objectives.
  • Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key retailers.
  • Represent Schilling Cider at various festivals, dinners, tastings, and events within the territory.
  • Enhance distribution while educating retailers, restaurateurs, and consumers about the Schilling Cider portfolio.
  • Engage with the existing account base to secure new distribution, execute promotional activities, and increase market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities to boost volume, distribution, and market share within the assigned area.
  • Recognize retail opportunities and effectively sell and execute against those prospects.
  • Ensure proper merchandising of products and point-of-sale materials in accordance with brand standards.
  • Drive sales by maintaining and increasing shelf visibility and positioning.
  • Coordinate events and promotions to enhance brand awareness and stimulate sales.
  • Execute monthly Chain Account initiatives – addressing authorization gaps, securing displays, merchandising shelves/backstock, providing POS support, and implementing company programs.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with distributor partners regarding retail opportunities and authorizations.
  • Provide essential feedback to Chain Account and Marketing teams regarding retail successes and challenges.
  • Achieve sales targets in alignment with our CIDER Selling Process.
  • Coordinate and conduct General Sales Meetings with all wholesaler channel teams.

Sales Administration:

  • Compile and submit reports on the assigned area and general market information to the management team and wholesaler.
  • Keep the business calendar updated and scheduled 60 days in advance.
  • Utilize sales tools (KARMA, VIP, Nielsen, IRI, etc.) effectively.
  • Recap weekly KARMA achievements to the wholesaler.
  • Communicate chain activity, new product launches, and incentive opportunities.
  • Adapt various aspects of distributor management based on business needs.
  • Coordinate with the wholesaler on commitment closure opportunities.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including a completed booster shot.
  • Currently reside in or be within commuting distance to the Milwaukee Metro area.
  • Demonstrate a passion for cider and the beverage industry.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable with mobile technology and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to handle and lift 30lb cases and team lift kegs.
  • Willingness to occasionally work evenings and weekends.
  • Lead by example and take initiative; be approachable and outgoing.
  • Self-driven and self-motivated.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
