Job Description

Job Title: Stationary Engineer - Maintenance and Repair Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Stationary Engineer - Maintenance and Repair Specialist to join our team at Owens Realty Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing general building maintenance tasks, including carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and maintaining the entire property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks: Paints, repairs/replace ceiling tiles, services plumbing, electrical fixtures, replaces bulbs and ballasts, and associated electrical and plumbing components.
  • Services all HVAC system equipment: Boilers, VAV's, AHU's, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, etc.
  • Repairs or replaces old and faulty parts: Repairs locks, makes keys, and performs minor repairs to equipment.
  • Conduct regular inspections: Checks for appearance and cleanliness, and reports unusual conditions.
  • Respond to emergencies: Is on call for emergency duty when assigned, and is familiar with power, water, and gas turnoffs, clean-out traps, fire extinguishers, and fire hydrants.
  • Follow company procedures: Follows all company emergency procedures, and is able to work flexible hours and respond to building-related emergencies when the need arises.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, with a focus on HVAC and plumbing.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid NY driver's license, reliable transportation, CORE-7 Cooling Tower Pesticide Certificate, Refrigeration certification, OSHA 10 certifications, and a valid license for High Pressure Boiler Operating Engineer issued by the New York City Department of Buildings.
  • Education: High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED).
  • Skills: Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; and ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
