Job Summary:The Medical Triage Nurse will be responsible for providing expert nursing consultation care to patients via phone, collaborating with providers, and serving as a liaison between patients and healthcare teams.
Key Responsibilities:- Handle incoming patient calls, assessing medical concerns and symptoms, and directing patients to emergency rooms if necessary.
- Monitor and respond to triage calls, providing high levels of customer service and respect.
- Communicate with patients, providers, and staff, demonstrating good judgment and reasoning when investigating and solving problems.
- Document patient interactions, maintaining accurate and thorough records.
- Collaborate with providers to analyze patient needs, prioritize work tasks, and complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Provide patient education on disease processes, therapies, and healthful behaviors.
- Administer medications and perform medical procedures as ordered within the scope of practice.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies as needed.
- License Practical Nurse in the state of
- Positive attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Medical Inbound call-center experience preferred
- Minimum two years customer service experience
- Keen attention to detail
- Adept at Creative problem-solving
- Ability to empathize with patients in need of care
- Strong computer and interpersonal skills
- High level of telephone skills with good communication ability
