Position Overview:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care aimed at ensuring the comfort and health of patients. This role involves preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during various examinations and treatments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Administer prescribed medications and perform wound care, including dressing changes and cleaning.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs and overall condition, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Actively participate in patient care planning and implementation as a primary or associate nurse, or as part of a healthcare team.
- Uphold safe aseptic techniques and procedures while providing nursing care.
- Provide leadership and guidance to support staff within the department.

Facility Information:
CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-South is strategically located to serve the community with a comprehensive range of surgical and medical services. The facility is equipped with 158 licensed beds and offers specialized services, including pediatrics, obstetrics, emergency care, and intensive care.

Neonatal Intensive Care:
The hospital features a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, allowing mothers to stay close to their premature or special needs infants during recovery.

Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care effectively.
- Preferred one year of nursing experience, particularly in critical or acute care settings.
- Current Texas State RN License required.
- CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
- PALS and TNCC certifications required within specified timeframes for certain facilities.
- NIHSS certification to be completed within 90 days of hire for specific locations.
