About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Relationship Banker to join our Amherst team at First National Bank. As a key member of our Retail branch team, you will play a vital role in making a meaningful impact on the lives of our customers and communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Presenting traditional and non-traditional bank products and services to customers and prospective customers
  • Taking loan applications and referring larger credit opportunities
  • Expanding account relationships by referring customers to other bank products and services
What You'll Be Doing
  • Gathering customer and potential customer information; analyzing customer needs; presenting suitable products; asking for the business and closing the sale
  • Making sales calls individually or accompanying calling officer and participating in community activities
  • Suggesting market strategies that could lead to new business
  • Making decisions regarding Branch Operations to provide direction for other Branch employees when the Branch Manager is unavailable
  • Serving as a liaison between the customer and bank products and services to ensure successful outcomes

Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent experience in the Financial Services industry. Undergraduate degree a plus
  • Three to four years of customer service and sales experience. Previous experience in banking or financial services preferred
  • Understanding of banking products and services, including deposit accounts and loans
  • Reputation for excellence in customer service and relationship development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal guidance
  • Some flexibility to work outside of normal business hours required
  • Proficient in use of PC based products including Word, Excel and Outlook. Aptitude to quickly learn and use electronic banking product applications
